What are the applications of silicone coated cloth?

Silicone coated fabric is a kind of high performance and multifunction composite material. Use glass fiber, aramid fabric or nylon as the base cloth to coat with impregnated silica gel or calendered silicone rubber , after high-temperature thermal vulcanization, it has the characteristics of acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, high and low temperature resistance, etc.

Silicone cloth is produced in different thicknesses, lightweight and heave coating due to the impregnating and calendering processes.

First of all, silicone fabrics have excellent high temperature resistance. Silicone materials maintain their stability and strength in high-temperature environments without suffering from the thermal expansion issues common with other materials. This makes silicone products very suitable for high-temperature processes and heat treatments, and can effectively protect and isolate other objects from high-temperature heat sources. So it could be used for Fire blanket and fire curtain.

As an excellent insulating material, silicone cloth can effectively isolate current and conduct heat, and has good insulation properties. Can be used as heating pad and thermal insulation cover, insulation jacket, etc.

In addition, silicone products offer excellent corrosion and chemical resistance. It can work between -70℃ and high temperature of 220℃ for a long time. Therefore, it is often used to produce expansion joints and compensators, flexible connector,flexible duct and ductwork for ventilation systems. It is also used to make the Gangway, bellow ducts on railways.

Silicone products have excellent softness and elasticity and can maintain their softness in various environments and are not easily deformed or broken. This allows silicone cloth to be used for conveyor belts, silicone gaskets, etc.

Silicone cloth has good flexibility, large surface friction and good elasticity. Silicone-coated fiberglass cloth not only retains the high strength, temperature resistance, fire resistance, and insulation of glass fiber, but also has the unique characteristics of breathability, anti-corrosion, waterproof, oil-proof, soft, tough and easy to process, so it is better than ordinary Coated fabrics, widely used for Aerospace, chemical industry, petroleum, large power generation equipment, machinery, metallurgy, electrical insulation, construction and other fields.
